Installing the gallery show for the Youth Media Festival . . .
Since Monday at 7am I have been installing a 100 piece gallery show of artwork made by Baltimore City youth at CENTERSTAGE Theatre in downtown Baltimore. It's exhilarating and exhausting, all at the same time!
Here are some sneak peaks from the installation process!
An archway of hands made by the Goodnow Community Center.
A large fabric face made by 22 youth and adults from the House of Ruth Maryland.
Up on a ladder . . .
Two cardboard self-portraits made by students in The Native American After School Program.
Sarah McCann and her intern, Andrew, work on installing a beautiful installation of posters and vinyl lettering.
More soon from this amazing festival!

Traveling project: Katti
Katti is a Fulbright student from the Philippines. The Fulbright students at MICA are putting together a show for the Baltimore airport. She submitted a proposal to incorporate images of things she misses from the Philippines combined with performance/ritual: below she is in traditional dress, a Western hat, with a rolling suitcase. The colors are beautiful. I can't wait to see the finished piece!
